Leland "the man!" Orser som Dejaren

Dejaren, ett hologram på ett rymdsskepp, slaktar hela besättningen men när han inser att hans program håller på brakar ihop skickar han ut ett nödrop. Torres och Doc drar dit för att se vad dom kan göra, men dom har såklart ingen aning om att detta hologram är psykopatisk. Han drar en vals, men Torres är såklart skeptisk men Doc tycker synd om Dejaren. Dejaren försöker övertala Doc att dom två skall dra iväg i hans skyttel och röja, men Doc gillar inte den idén.
Paranoida Torres springer av en slump på kropparna och inser vad Dejaren gjort. När hon försöker avaktivera hans program försöker han döda henne, men hon hinner avaktivera honom först.
Tyvärr överlever han och lyckas slå sönder Doc och snor hans mobila generator. Så nu ger han sig rejält på Torres som lyckas köra etrt par tusen watt isometrisk energi genom honom som förstör hans matris.
Hon lyckas sen reparera Doctorn, och dom ger sig sen av tebax till Voyager där Paris har ställt till det med Docs sjukstuga när han lekt sjuksköterska.

Kenneth Biller om hans första gång som regissör:
"It was a fun show to direct. To me it was sort of like a little John Carpenter film. I tried to make it scary. I got a fantastic guest
star, Leland Orser. I had two really good actors from our cast to work with, Bob Picardo and Roxann Dawson, and it was a great experience. I'm fortunate in that I had my first TV directing experience with a friendly crew, a crew that likes me and wants to help me, and see me succeed."

Garret Wang om scenerna mellan honom och 7:
"They had a really funny scene in the mess hall. Seven of Nine has been assigned to work with Harry, and in the process Harry develops a
crush on her, so he invites her to the mess hall under the guise of work. [Wang förklarar scenen men den har ju vi sett så jag klipper]
She's so blunt about everything, She says 'Do you love me' and 'Do you wish to copulate?'. She flips the tables around. It's pretty funny.
[om tesen att dom kan fortsätta bygga en relation mellan dom två som mellan Torres och Paris]
"It depends on how the audience reacts to it. If they like it, they'll continue with it. I think it would be good. Captain Janeway seems to
have a thing with Chakotay. It's not been played out, but that's what people see as a pairing. Paris is now with Torres, whereas originally
it seems that Torres would be with Kim, because they were hanging out quite a bit first season. But Paris and Torres are now doing that.
Tuvok is married, so he probably wouldn't have a relationship. Then there's Kim, and Kim is the logical person to have a thing with Seven
if they decide to go down that route."

Ett nytt bryggbefäl dyker upp, 'Culhane'. Har dock ingen aning om vem som var rösten eller vad som hände med honom sen.
Det är första gången vi får höra talas om "astrometrics lab", men det kommer senare att synas en hel del fr.o.m "Year of Hell". En liten
miss är dock att Chakotay säger att "astrometrics" inte uppgraderats sen Voyager byggdes. Men 3 år senare, i "Shattered", säger dom att Voyager inte hade ett "astrometrics" förrän 7 byggde det.

Leland Orser känner väl många igen!? Inte bara har han spelat "Gai" i DS9:"Sanctuary", "Lovok" i DS9:"The Is Cast", han har även en
återkommande roll i en till favo-serie "The Pretender"/"Kamelonten" ("Argyle") och X-Files, men han har oxå spelat i "Alien: Resurrection"
och "Bone collector", "ID4" och "Se7en".
Angående scenerna mellan Seven och Kim tyckte Jeri Ryan att hennes karaktär gick lite väl fort fram. Inte bara när det gällde sex, men
att hon redan skaffat sig humor. Men Brannon Braga försvarade det såhär: "I know it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I though it
was audacious, saucy, and controversial. I loved the idea that Kim got in a little over his head. Picking up on women is bad enough for him, but a Borg woman, he's way out of his league [säger mannen som nu är ihop me'na, stoffs anm]. I think it was true to Seven's character, because she saw right through his romantic manipulations, and asked him if he wished to copulate. That's what a Borg would say. If it caught some people off guard, that's exactly what we wanted to do."
Som tur var var dom två (Wang och Ryan) polare under filmningen av detta avsnitt, bl.a så spelade Wang lite spratt med att sätta
hemmagjorda namnlappar på hennes trailer som hon sedan dekorerade sitt kylskåp med.

Paris: "We rigged the security console so that everytime Tuvok accessed the internal sensors, it'd play a little message."
Kim: "Live long and prosper."
Paris: "No matter what button he'd push, 'Live long and prosper'"
Kim: "Naturally, noone was around to fix the malfunction."
Paris: "So Tuvok had to stretch his Vulcan patience to the limit the rest of the day. [..] And just when he thought it was over, when he went back to his quarters and ordered a Vulcan cup of tea, the repliactor says..."
Kim: "Live long and prosper!"
[..]
Tuvok: "Had I known this commodation would entail a ritual humiliation I might have declined."

"As a Vulcan I'd like to share the following sentiment - Live long and prosper."

Torres: "You can just pretend I never said it, in fact, let's forget I even said it..."
Paris: "Shut up!"

Doc: "The captain has authorized me to recruit someone with advanced medical training to help me in sickbay. Unfortunately the most
qualified crewmember is you."
Paris: "You want me to be the new nurse?"
[..]
Doc: "Bring a tri-corder and a smile."

"I can't recall giving you a promotion?"
- Janeway

7: "Ensign Kim, you seem apprehensive."
Kim: "No, not at all."
7: "The last time we worked together I struck you at the base of your
skull and tried to contact the collective."
Kim: "These things happen :)"

7: "Some of the alphanummerics are Borg"
Kim: "No problem, I always wanted to learn Borg :)"
7: "That is difficult to believe."
Kim: "I was kidding. A joke... you know... humor?"
7: "I understand the concept of humor. It might not always be apparent, but I am often amused by human behaviour."

"Sorry, I didn't realise I'd struck a nerve. Perhaps you'd like a tranqualizer? :)"

"I wonder what bedside manner Mr. Paris will exhibit. That was a retorical question Lieutenant."

7: "I may no longer possess Borg perfection, but my eperience as a drone has tought me to be efficient and precise."
Kim: "Actually, you've missaligned this optical assembly."
7: "Impossible."
Kim: "Take a look, it's off by .5 degrees."
7: "It must have been my humanity reasseriting itself."
Kim: :)

Doc: "I'll admit he's a bit socially inept."
Torres: "Inept!? He's a lunatic!"

Doc: "Do you recall my own behavior when I was first activated?"
Torres: "How can I forget, you were a major pain in the..."

7: "I suggest a radical disslocation?"
Kim: "A what?"
7: "We need to pull it out."

Kim: "She's incredably intelligent."
Paris: "She ought to be, she assimilated enough people."

Kim: "Just trying to make her feel like part of the team."
Paris: "Part of the team? You sound like Chakotay!"

"Comfort is irrelevant, we're here to work."

7: "Beauty is irrelevant. Unless you wanna change the nature of our affiliation?"
Kim: "What do you mean?"
7: "I may be new to individuality but I'm not ignorant of human behavior. I've noticed your attempts to engage me in idle conversation and I see the way your pupils dilates when you look at my body."
Kim: "I don't know what your talking about."
7: "Obviously you've suggested a visit to the holodeck in hopes of creating a romantical mood. Are you in love with me ensign?"
Kim: "Well... no..."
7: "Then you wish to copulate?"
Kim: "NOO!! I mean... I don't know what I mean..."
7: [..] "I didn't realise becoming human again would be such a challenge. Sexuality is particularly complex. As Borg he had no need for seducation, no time for single cell fraternization. We saw a species we wanted and we assimilated it. Nevertheless, I'm willing to explore my humanity. Take off your clothes."
Kim: "Seven!!!!"
7: "Don't be alarmed, I won't hurt you."
Kim: "This is a little sudden. I was just trying to... part of the team, you know... maybe we should just quit for now."
7: "Alright. Let me know when you wish to resume our work."

Chakotay: "She says you've been helping her learn more about our complex social interactions. Any idea what she meant by that?"
Kim: "Can't image."

Torres: "Does this mean you're too tired to meet me in my quarters later?"
Paris: "Are you sure your heart can take it?"
Doc: "I'm detecting elevated hormonal levels. If you two don't take it
easy I'll have to declare a medical emergency. "
